Commerce Presbyterian Church Updates

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, if you would like to donate to the PC (USA) Disaster Assistance Fund, please make your checks out to Commerce Presbyterian Church and in memo line of your check, annotate: “Disaster Relief Fund.” This will be the last Sunday we are accepting donations. Donations can be given during our service’s regular offering period on Sunday, October 13th, or through our online giving. A cover letter will be attached stating that these funds are to be used towards disaster relief in the Asheville, NC area. Our prayers continue for those folks who lost everything, the families who lost family and friends and the recovery teams helping them to begin the re-building process. May the Lord be with them all!

TCPC’s Women’s Group will kick off their season at Trina’s home on Thursday, 24 OCT 24 @ 6:00 p.m. We will be doing the ecumenical version of “Justice Rolls Down.” I chose this version because we do have some folks from other denominations wishing to join us. They are welcome, so share with your friends as well. There are nine lessons to this study which means we should complete it by June. I would like to continue this year with “Gathering Around the Table.” I do not mind at all hosting at my home, but if any of you would like to share your home in this way, please speak up. I will prepare a main dish of pork with apples for our first meeting. We need a couple of sides, bread, and dessert. Happy Fall, y’all! The Cain’s will be hosting a Fall Gathering on Friday, October 18th at their abode! We will be grilling hotdogs and hamburgers with a side of chips and tea to drink. Please check the sign-up sheet in TCPC’s Fellowship Hall for wants and needs, and to let us know who all to expect.

TCPC’s Adult Choir is currently gathering once again after their summer break and music director, Braden, invites all to attend choir rehearsals on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM. Let Braden be the judge as to whether you can carry a tune or not! They started back on Wednesday, August 21st in the choir rehearsal room. Please come share your time, talents, and treasures with the life and mission of The Commerce Presbyterian Church!
